After School Rep. Theater and Kids’ Summer Rep. Theater Company. At COLSAC, we believe that children of all ages and races can benefit from the creativity and passion that happen in live theater. Therefore, the After School Rep. Theater and Kids’ Summer Rep. Theater Company was created to provide youth with an opportunity to develop their talent as actors. During these twelve-week summer workshops, a COLSAC instructor teaches the basics of acting technique. Young thespians study their craft and work in a nurturing environment that allows them to grow as artist. Students also learn the basics in light & sound design, costume design and theater production. During this process our students learn that live theater is much than a group of people dressed in costumes quoting lines from plays written by dead authors. It is a vibrant collaborative art that stresses teamwork, strengthens leadership skills and bridges cultures. At the conclusion of the workshop, the participants present a full play.
